Supply Chain Specialist

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a company’s supply chain. They are responsible for managing and optimizing various aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and vendor relationships. Their primary goal is to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • For all enterprise departments, place purchase orders with vendors for materials, machinery, equipment, tools, parts or other supplies and services.
  • Daily management status reporting of all stateside inventory, finished goods, parts and WIP.
  • External vendors point of contact focused on enterprise internal needs, vendor pricing and availability and delivery expectations.
  • Point of contact for manufacturing material resource scheduling, and inventory status.
  • Coordination and supervision of all domestic logistics, shipping and receiving activity.
  • Daily sales order entry and territory status reporting supporting enterprise Master Scheduling.
  • Enterprise vendor material resource tracking and status for all product lines.
  • Maintain records of items purchased, associated costs, delivery schedules and margin performance.
  • Enterprise inventory reporting in support of senior management performance reporting.
  • Coordinator of Monthly inventory physical counts, supervise operations personnel in physical count and reconciliation.
  • Supervise shipping and receiving personnel.
  • Ensure proper packaging design to safely ship to customers world-wide.
  • Negotiate all UPS, FedEx, DHL and independent shipping firm’s rates in daily shipping and receiving.
  • Participate in monthly full count inventories for reporting to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 10 years previous experience as a supply chain manager or in a similar field
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
  • Working experience of relevant software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative problem-solving
  • A strategic and analytical mind
  • Strong background in math to analyze demand trends and track orders
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration; Master degree preferred
